Competitors
Whether competing seriously or just for fun in the daytimes, or taking part in the spectacular evening shows as a Parade horse, the Festival is for everyone. It's about the shared love for the Iberian horse, and accessible to all. Its quite the atmosphere but visitor numbers are limited in the daytimes, the Festival Team will support you throughout with dedicated team members in every area.

Have fun in DAYTIME COMPETITIONS with your horse in the purpose built arena - beautiful ambient lighting, olive trees and more. The arena once again will be a premium wax surface for your horses total comfort, kindly supplied by Equine Surfacing Ltd (if you are local this will be available to buy after the Festival).
The Showing classes are for pure and part bred Lusitanos (PSL), PREs, PRMes and PRE Fusions. Each breed competes separately for a Champion and Reserve. Working Equitation is a National competition run by ABWE and ANY breed can enter. Dressage is for registered or unregistered Iberians.
If you are lucky enough to be a Champion, and you and your horse are brave, you can take a lap of honour during the Saturday night Espectáculo.
Perhaps you'll take your horse down El Paseo - guests, judges and dignataries will be able to meet your horses on the side of the vintage wooden Pavillion at The Lisbon Lounge. Throughout the event you can eat, shop and be entertained night and day in La Plaza, a truly special experience.
The EVENINGS are for your inspiration. Put your horse to bed, grab some paella, or tapas, and a sherry or some Sangria, and enjoy! You will be seeing global icon Clémence Faivre, the return of horses from the Royal Stables of Cordoba, plus , Silke Vallentin and a Fire, Flamenco and Fado Fantasia.
We can only take a certain number of horses as must run to time in the evenings, entering early secures your classes.
Professionals or VERY confident partnerships are invited to PARADE for FREE. An unforgettable experience which will be recorded by our incredible production photographers and videographers.
